History of Dodecahedron Day |
Dodecahedron Day was conceived by Vince Matsko (formerly at Quincy University) during the Spring 2004 semester. What better way to encourage students and teachers to have fun learning about polyhedra?
The first (as far as we know!) Dodecahedron Day was celebrated on December 6, 2004 (since the 5th was a Sunday). Click here to see some photographs of that successful event.
We're launching a major event at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy for Dodecahedron Day 2008. Be a part of it!
Let us know if you'll be celebrating Dodecahedron Day 2008! If you've got some good ideas for classroom projects or photos of student work, we'll include them on the "Resources" page. If you'd like to make yourself available for questions about your activities, please include relevant contact information.
Happy building!
