General Information

Who am I?

My name is Scott Swanson; I am the Strategic Technology Coordinator at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in Aurora, IL.  I am a member of the Office of the CIO, which is part of Information & Technology Services.

I am also an alumnus from the Class of 1990, the second graduating class from the institution, and an at-large member of the IMSA Alumni Association Cabinet since 2005.

What do I do?

Among my primary day-to-day functions are the management of internal and external relationships relating to our vision of the use of technology as a means to furthering the mission of the Academy.  I also work with implementing and expanding our vision of the use of technology for learning.  I am heavily involved with our strategic and emerging technology initiatives such as the One-to-One Tablet Computing Project and Second Life.

In addition, I teach Intersession courses, advise student inquiry, perform secondary functions to support the institution, and have a variety of research projects on the back burners. I also perform various tasks in support of alumni outreach, both as staff and as an alumnus.  I also sponsor some extracurricular activities.
