                  St. Petersburg 2007

IMSA Russian II and III students have traveled to Russia (both Moscow and St. Petersburg) six times since 1999. Each trip to Russia has provided incredible opportunities for students to practice and hone speaking and listening skills and to experience Russian culture firsthand.

The most recent trip was in April 2007, when fourteen students journeyed to St. Petersburg for an unforgettable week. Students toured museums, such as the Hermitage and the Russian Museum; attended performances of a folklore show, a circus, and a ballet; and visited a mathematics-physics high school that is very similar to IMSA. Students experienced the city as Russians do, riding public transportation (the metro is really cool!), ordering and eating Russian food in cafes, and shopping for gifts and books in stores and markets. The week was a continual blast, and students cannot wait to return to St. Petersburg for more visits in the future! Click the image below in order to view photos from the trip.
