Welcome to the online home of the IMSA Russian Program. As you explore the links on the left, we hope that you will learn more about the program and choose Russian as your language of study.
The Russian Department currently offers 3 year-long programs in Russian. Full course descriptions are available on the Programs page. The graduation requirement in World Languages at IMSA is four semesters of a language (Russian, French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, or Spanish) taken two out of the student's three years at the academy, including completion of at least one level II or higher course. All language courses are year-long courses. Native and heritage speakers are required to study a language different from their own. World Languages classes meet four times each week, two times for 45 minutes and two times for 70 minutes.
