In this exercise you will learn and practice vocabulary and structures
that are useful when talking about furry pets you or your family might
have. You already have demonstrated that you can talk about friends, family
and other people in your life. This lesson is designed to help you talk
or write about pets that you, your family or friends might have. At the
end of this lesson, you should be able to describe the physical characteristcs,
personality traits and the like and dislikes of animals. Although
the visuals in this lesson are of cats, you should be able to transfer
the vocabulary to many other types of fur-bearing critters. In addition
to practicing and studying on-line, you will have other opprtunities to
practice in and out of class.
Spend some time (not more than 5 - 6 minutes) studying the picture
and the vocabulary in and under the picture. Then read the story under
the picture of Felizitas. Now go to this link to practice: Quia.
Start with the flashcard exercises. Return to this page after you have
finished practicing.
OK, great! Now make up a short story about Felizitas. In your story
you should describe Felizitas, tell about her personality, and talk about
things she likes to do. Tell the story silently to yourself. Try to say
as much as you can in your story.
