Extra-CurricularsThe IMSA Student Math Intermural (IMSASMI)![]() Students eagerly awaiting the results of the contest On November 11, 1996 over 100 students participated in the first IMSA Student Math Intramural. This contest, co-sponsored by the IMSA Math Department and the IMSA chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, had students competing on challenging and fun problems. The problems were written both by students and faculty, and partially reflected IMSA's innovative mathematics curriculum. Students could compete in either the pre-calculus division or the calculus division, depending on their current math course. The winners for the evening took home candy bars and everyone scored points toward an end of the year pizza party. ![]() Students work on IMSASMI problems as a team.
