The role that western man has assumed
as an intelligence that observes
has perpetuated a dualistic way of thinking and being
that is sorely reflected in the critical separation
existing in our paradigm between man and nature.
To shift our perceptions about this relationship
I have attempted to create a language of symbolism
bridging the intellect and the heart,
with a mental construct and natural content.
The elaborate pattern of nature
so rarely occurs to us through
our fragmented sensory driven experiences.
The discovery of imagery
that contradicts our fragmentation,
and conveys a sense of wholeness,
reflects my conviction that there
exists an order in the universe of which all life
is an integrated and interconnected part.
